Open a new canves  500 x 500 ..transparent background.

Set your Foreground color to a med red.
I used #C32323.

Select your Preset Shapes tool
Ellipse
Filled
Anti Alias checked
Create as Vector checked
 

Draw an oval that will be used to shape one side of the bow.
Like this

Now select the Vector Object selection tool.
 Right click on the oval and go to Node Edit.
Now it will look like this

Click on the little node box on the far left and drag it up a little.
Like this

Now hold your Ctrl key down and click on the line about where the X is to add a new node.

Now drag it down a little...like this
