Jingle Bells Bow
page 2
Now ..just drag each node to shape it into half of a bow.
The nodes can be manipulated by clicking on them and dragging them around
.
Each node has handles that can also be used to shape it.
If you click on a node and it doesn't have handles...
Right click on the node...go to Node Type ....Symmetric.
This will add the handles to the node and you can then drag the handles
around
to get rounded corners. You can also pull the handles to make them
longer...
this gives it a more rounded corner.
When you have a shape you like ...just right click and go to
Quit Node Editing.
Now it will bring back your color shape but it will still have small
node boxes at the corners
and in the center. If you need to make it smaller just drag one of
the corner nodes in at an angle.
When you have it the size and shape you want it..go to Layers...Convert to raster.
Now select your Selection tool...Ellipse...Antialias checked..no feather.
You are going to use the selection tool to select an oval shape in the
bow . This will be the
part of the bow that makes it look looped..you can do this at the top
or the bottom..I am
going to do mine at the top. The wider the oval selection..the more
angled the bow will look.
Here is mine
Once you have a selection you like...click inside it and it will select
just that part of the bow.
Now hit Ctrl C to copy it..then Ctrl V to paste it as a new image.
Now hit the undo to undo back to before you made your selection.
Here is what mine looks like
There are many ways to do all this but this is the easiest for me...I
know it may seem a weird
way to do things but that is the fun of it all...~L~
Ok..now ..with the selection tool...draw a box or ellipse all the way
around your
bow and click inside to select it.
Set your Foreground color to a darker shade of the color you used for
the bow.
I used #812323
Select your Airbrush tool
Round
Size ..about 65
Hardness = 0
Opacity = 24
Step = 25
Density = 100
Now spray shading around the edge of the bow. If you set your background
color to the same shade
you used on the bow..you can alternate your right click to add shading
and your left click to
add the original color back..in case you get too much shading in one
spot.
Hint:
When shading..you are only going to use the edge of the spray to shade..in
other words
don't put the brush right on the bow and spray it...keep the brush
out from the edge of the
bow and try to just let the edge of the spray hit the bow.
Also..it may be easier to one click the spray on..moving around the
bow a little on each click.
When you have it the way you like it..de-select it.
Now add a new layer.
Go to that little slice of the bow that you copied earlier and hit Ctrl
C to copy it...
click back on your original image and hit Ctrl E to paste it...place
it in the exact same
spot that you cut it out from.
