Christmas Bow

When you have the shape you like...right click on it and go to Quit Node Editing.
Now go to Layers...Convert to Raster.
Now select the Selection tool...Ellipse..Antialias checked.
Select an area from the bottom of the loop to use as the back..like
you did on the last one.
Here is mine.
Now click inside it to make the selection conform to it. Flood fill
it with the darker red.
Hit Ctrl C to copy it..then Ctrl L to paste it as a new layer. Now
hit delete to delete
the one you have selected.
Now make sure the layer with the back side is active by clicking on
it in the Layers
drop down box. It should be Layer 4.
Use the Selection tool to draw a box all around it...then click inside
to select it.
NOTE: If your Selection tool is set to Ellipse..you can just draw an
Ellipse around it and select it
instead of having to change your selection tool.
Now..move it back into place...where you took it from.
If you want...you can reduce the size of your Airbrush a little..to
about 50 and spray
a small dab of the light color in the center of it. If you get too
much ..just spray
some dark back around the edge. It is hard to explain shading...it
is just something
you have to practice with a bit to get it down..but remember ..when
you have
your two shades of color set..one as the background and one as the
foreground..you can
both right click and left click to blend your color.
Now go to the Layers drop down box and click on the layer with the top
part of the loop on it.
It should be Layer 2. Now shade it around the edge with the dark shade.
I leave a light streak
going cross ways on the loop..about in the center.
Now you need to merge this loop so go to the Layers drop down box and
click
on the glasses on Layer 1 and the layer named Merged...to make them
invisible.
Now right click on either Layer 2 or
Layer 4 and go to Merge..Visible. Now would be a good time to name
your Layers if you
want. To name them just right click on the layer..go to Properties..then
type in a name
for the layer. I named mine loop1 and loop2. You can also click on
the glasses on the
two layers you made invisible ..to make them visible again.
Now if you need to adjust the size of the last loop you made you can
make sure the layer it is on is active by clicking on it in the Layers
drop down box.
Then click on the Deformation tool and use the node boxes to adjust
it.
Now for another loop. Click on the layer with the second loop on it.On mine it is loop2.
Make sure your Foreground color is the light red.
Use the Preset Shapes tool to draw another loop.
